frequently asked questions (FAQ)
The home will need to be vacant during the dry fog process, so plan a place for you and your pets to be during the services. Your will receive a message a few days prior to your service that will confirm your appointment and give basic instructions on how to prepare your home. They are simple things like open all closets, close all windows, etc.
Because of the dryness of the fog, Pure Maintenance has never had an issue with wall art or paintings, but many people feel more comfortable taking expensive paintings down or covering them with a blanket.
The chemical used in the EverPURE stage of the process has been FDA approved for food contact, but to retain the fresh taste of your produce you may want to place it in a zip lock bag or refrigerator.
You will be back in your home the same day. Each job is different but the average size home takes around 4 hours. You may notice a faint smell of vinegar when you return but that will dissipate quickly.
Absolutely. The patented Pure Maintenance dry fog process is non-toxic - it's family and pet friendly.
No, in fact, you want to keep as many of your belongings inside the home as possible. Mold spores get trapped inside fabrics, furniture, clothing, mattresses, etc. All of those things should be treated as well.
Our patented technology creates a 7.5 micron sized particle. A mold spore is between 12 and 30 microns. Thus, any place where a mold spore can get in or out of, the fog will penetrate those areas.
Not at all. It leaves no residue so your home and all items in it will be clean.
Sometimes the mold will leave tanin stains on surfaces which will remain behind but at the point of post-treatment they're completely inert and harmless. We offer stain removal for a small additional cost. If you want, you can do that yourself after the treatment and everything will be perfectly safe to handle at that point.
If all moisture and water issues are resolved, the treatment can remain effective for a very long time. We apply an antimicrobial film to every surface in your home as part of the second stage of our fogging process. This eradicates any new mold spores introduced to the property by electrostatically attracting them to it, and puncturing their cell walls - known as a mechanical kill.
We take an air sample before and after the treatment, send them off to an accredited, third-party lab. We let their impartial test results do the talking. You'll see the reduction of the fungal ecology in your home post-treatment. We aim to restore your home to a fungal ecology considered in the "normal" (and therefore safe) range, or comporable to outdoor air.
